Crrritical Space

»Who should get 45 minutes of speaking time at the Bundestag?«
»Which campaign slogan belongs to what party?«
»State pension or unconditional basic income, what is most appealing?«

Against the background of the 2021 Bundestag elections and the increasing shift of political and public discourse into the digital realm, the external platform Crrritical.space combines background information on current political issues with a user-friendly interface that encourages users to interact with the issues at hand.

Rendered by only three colours, a single font, and bitmap images, two quizzes invite participants to test their political knowledge about the status quo, reflect on their own assumptions and possible „blind spots“ regarding political „truths“, and express their own beliefs/wishes for future politics.

Bridging Invisible Borders

The distance between Severodonetsk and Lutsk is nearly 1000 kilometers and it takes a day’s journey by train to go from one city to another. For our late Summer Workshop we invited young change makers from both – east and west Ukraine – to make a magazine and their joint future.

AOT_Single_stack2

The capital of Georgia practically presents a new face every day. Ambitious building projects and large foreign investments are constantly changing the cityscape of Tbilisi. Urban planners, architects, and activists recount what the changes mean to them and to life in this remarkable and fascinating city. Here’s the final outcome of our long-term project in our favorite country.

Indiecon

The Hamburg based magazine festival Indiecon has become a fond habit for us. For this year’s summer school we were supported by experts from the fields of augmented reality to create a very special fourth issue of 41-42.

Second Thoughts

English speakers sometimes try to express doubt as “having second thoughts”. But second thoughts are out of fashion in the media these days as opinions have become monoliths. Second Thoughts is a journal for journalists who want to reclaim their doubts, or at least to feel they can admit to them.
