“Acting Together” was a joint initiative of DVV International and its partners, the History Foundation “Tarih Vakfı” (Turkey) and the Armenian Centre for Ethnological Studies “Hazarashen” (Armenia). A century after the Genocide, we aimed at building bridges between the people of Turkey and Armenia through adult education, journalism, oral history and art.

Twenty young people from Armenia and Turkey took part in a joint road trip inside Armenia, retracing the routes of 1915 in Gyumri, Talin, Etchmiadzin and Yerevan, exploring the route of survivors fleeing to Eastern Armenia, at the time part of the Russian Empire. The participants were divided into two groups – one concentrated on conducting Oral History interviews and one working on a Road Magazine and gathering an archive of various materials and items, photos, texts and recordings from each site visited.
