Despite the shared living space, Estonians and Russians rarely get together when it comes to the fields of publishing. With this Autumn School, we wanted to change that and form a multi-ethnic group to create a visual magazine with a mixed team of aspiring photographers, journalists and designers and print the magazine within the eight days of workshop.

Together we wanted to get behind the headlines and common stereotypes and look at the identities of both ethnicities sharing the same country. How is the communication? What are the differences within the generations? And what prejudices and tensions exist on both sides? We empowered the participants by passing on a toolset for creative and independent reporting with words, pictures and digital technology including mapping and data driven journalism to be able to tell stories and share visions of the world.
